Football Recap: Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy] Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy] and Providence Day squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy] had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Chargers and fell 41-7. The game marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Zaid Lott was his usual excellent self, throwing for 223 yards and five TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushing for 47 yards and one touchdown for Providence Day. Lott has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Gordon Sellars was in the mix too, providing Providence Day with three scores.

Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy]'s defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Providence Day, the win keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
