Baseball Recap: Cedaredge's Run of Five Straight Victories Now Over

Cedaredge and Crowley County squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Cedaredge had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 10-9. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Bruins, who until this match were averaging three runs allowed.

Tel Geyer put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Makai Salazar and Carson Rupp did some serious damage despite the final result: Salazar went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Rupp went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Rupp has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
