Football Recap: Irion County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Irion County extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-6. They were beaten by the Robert Lee Steers 54-8. The Hornets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Steers from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

As for Robert Lee, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 62.0 points this season.

Robert Lee can attribute much of their success to Josh Garcez, who rushed for 13 yards and two scores.

Coincidentally, Irion County and Robert Lee will both be playing Paint Rock the next time they take the field. The Steers will host the Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Hornets will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th.
