Baseball Recap: Fort Bend Marshall Comes Up Short

Fort Bend Marshall had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-15 to make it four. They came up short against the Victoria West Warriors, falling 19-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 on Tuesday.

As for Victoria West, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-8. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Victoria West's part, Ethan Guerra was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Guerra a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evan Waters, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Fort Bend Marshall has already played their next game (against Fort Bend Kempner), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Victoria West, they are taking a road trip to challenge Lamar Consolidated at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
