Recap: Gering Bulldogs vs. Chadron Cardinals

The Gering Bulldogs had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 59-51 victory over Chadron on Friday. Gering's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Neveah Hrasky had a dynamite game for Gering, scoring 22 points along with two steals. Jacey Cochran was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Chadron lost, one person who can't be blamed is Taverra Sayaloune. Despite the final result, she scored 22 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sayaloune has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaleigh Mccartney, who scored seven points along with three steals.

Gering's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-10. As for Chadron, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gering won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Bearcats at 5:30 p.m. on January 20th. As for Chadron, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. on January 20th.
