Lodi is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Tokay is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Flames will host the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lodi's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Kimball as they made off with an 11-0 win. The Flames have beaten the Jaguars the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Jaguars has come to flipping the script.
Ashlyn Jubrey was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Jubrey was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Abby Schweigerdt was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Ellie Schallberger, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Lodi hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least one batters in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Tokay faced off against Weston Ranch on Tuesday. The Tigers blew past the Cougars 17-1.
Like Lodi, Tokay also got a great game from a two-way player: Brooklyn Jeremic-Schaede 2027. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Jeremic-Schaede 2027 has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Pasqualicchio 2028, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April. Emma Misasi 2025 was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Tokay is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Lodi, their win bumped their record up to 19-6.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lodi hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .369. However, it's not like Tokay struggles in that department as they've averaged .375. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Lodi's way against Tokay in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Lodi made off with a 21-1 victory. Will the Flames repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
