Basketball Recap: Clark Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Clark took on Hyde Park on Thursday. The Clark Eagles took a 46-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hyde Park Thunderbirds. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eagles came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 283rd).

This is the second loss in a row for Clark and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Hyde Park, their win bumped their record up to an identical 4-2.

Clark and Lane Tech will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lane Tech has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Hyde Park, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-34 loss against Douglass on the 14th.
