Baseball Game Preview: Fairfield Falcons vs. Burbank Titans

The Fairfield Falcons will head out to challenge the Burbank Titans at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fairfield will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Fairfield barely beat Vacaville Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Everything went Fairfield's way against Vacaville Christian on Friday as Fairfield made off with a 7-1 win. Fairfield might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.

Trustin Mitchell made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out 13 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Donavan Luu, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and one double. That double was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Knox, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Burbank was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over Grant. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Pacers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Fairfield's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Burbank, their record is now 5-2.

Fairfield skirted past Burbank 3-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fairfield since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
