Soccer Game Preview: Sierra Canyon vs. Notre Dame (SO)

The Sierra Canyon Trailblazers will head out on the road to challenge the Notre Dame (SO) Knights at 11:30 a.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Sierra Canyon fell victim to St. Francis and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 7-0 to the Golden Knights. While losing is never fun, the Trailblazers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 388th, while the Golden Knights are ranked 169th).

Meanwhile, Notre Dame (SO) entered their contest against Harvard-Westlake on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Notre Dame (SO) took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Harvard-Westlake.

Sierra Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5-2. As for Notre Dame (SO), their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-2-1.

Sierra Canyon suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Notre Dame (SO) in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Sierra Canyon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
