Softball Recap: Palmer Trinity Triumphs

Palmer Trinity's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Key West Conchs by a score of 5-1. This was a revenge game for the Falcons: when they faced off against the Conchs on Friday, they had to take a 12-2 loss.

Emily 'Emmy' Cerda spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kinsey Cerda was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last nine games she's played. Gina Marie Pineda was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Palmer Trinity's record now sits at 7-3. As for Key West, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Coincidentally, Palmer Trinity and Key West will both be playing Lourdes Academy the next time they take the field. Key West will head out to face Lourdes Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Palmer Trinity will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on April 1.
