It was a good run, but Hinckley-Big Rock unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Newark Norsemen by a score of 67-64. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Royals have suffered since December 26, 2024.

Newark's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reggie Chapman led the charge by going 7 of 12 en route to 21 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. Jimmy Kath was another key player, going 7 for 8 on his way to 17 points.

Hinckley-Big Rock's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 16-7. As for Newark, they moved to 13-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Hinckley-Big Rock will take on Illinois Math & Science Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Hinckley-Big Rock knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Illinois Math & Science Academy likes a good challenge. As for Newark, they are taking a road trip to take on Somonauk at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Newark is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.6 points per game this season.
