Softball Recap: Greenville Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bernie, Greenville was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Delta Bobcats a 15-0 shutout. Considering the Bears' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

M Hill was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two triples, five RBI, and three runs. Those triples were her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on T Wood, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. C Stevens was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

Greenville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Greenville's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Delta, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Greenville will head out to square off against Clearwater at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Delta, they will take on Advance at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
