Basketball Game Preview: Joseph City Wildcats vs. Mayer Wildcats

Joseph City is 10-0 against Mayer since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Joseph City Wildcats will challenge the Mayer Wildcats at 11:30 a.m. Joseph City knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Mayer likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Joseph City was able to grind out a solid win over Williams, taking the game 76-63.

Eli James was his usual excellent self, going 14 for 22 en route to 35 points in addition to six boards and five assists. His evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cort Miller, who posted seven points along with nine assists and five rebounds.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Joseph City was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Williams only racked up 12 assists.

Meanwhile, Mayer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were outmatched by Bagdad and fell 52-25.

Joseph City is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.6 points per game. As for Mayer, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-18.

Everything came up roses for Joseph City against Mayer in their previous matchup back in January, as the squad secured an 84-26 victory. In that contest, Joseph City amassed a halftime lead of 51-14, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
