Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Amelia County). They skirted past the Grove Christian School Falcons 59-56. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Raiders as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Amelia County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but DAWSON DUNNAVANT led the charge by putting up 12 points and six rebounds. CYLE WASHINGTON was another key player, going 7 of 13 on his way to 17 points and seven rebounds.

Amelia County's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Grove Christian School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Amelia County and Legacy Academy will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Grove Christian School, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Summit Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
