Football Recap: Elbert County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Elbert County lost against Stephens County back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Blue Devils fell 21-17 to the Indians. Despite 105 more yards than the Indians, the Blue Devils couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the loss, Elbert County still got an impressive performance from Dakhovin Dk Winn, who picked up 143 receiving yards and one touchdown. Brody Baker was another key player, having thrown for 348 yards and onetouchdown.

A big part of Stephens County's win came down to the chemistry between Branson Stowe and his top target Davon Swinton. Stowe threw for 175 yards and three TDs while Swinton picked up 142 receiving yards and three scores. Those three receiving touchdowns gave Swinton a new career-high.

Elbert County's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Stephens County, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Elbert County is taking a road trip to take on Wesleyan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Stephens County, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Cedar Shoals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
