Softball Recap: Wendell Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

Wendell was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against the Buhl Indians by a score of 7-3. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 16-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

Breanna Comstock made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Jace Olmos was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Brianna Egbert was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Wendell hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Buhl struck out eight times.

Wendell is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.2 runs. As for Buhl, they dropped their record down to 5-6 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Wendell will take on Soda Springs at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Buhl, they will host Filer at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
