Softball Recap: Saranac Spartans vs. Peru Nighthawks

Saranac won the last time they faced Peru, and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Saranac Spartans put the hurt on the Peru Nighthawks with a sharp 12-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Saranac.

Irelyn Ryan made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Ryan was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Emily McDermott was a standout: she got on base in four of her six plate appearances with three RBI and a double. Molly Denis was another key contributor, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.
