League recap: Inderkum, Pioneer tied at the top

Tri-County league recap: 3/20/13

Pioneer and Inderkum are tied atop the standings of Tri-County, leaving first place open for the taking.

The league's top pitcher this week was the Tigers' Isaiah Nunez. He won one game and retired five batters.

Yuba City put just one batter on base with walks in the past week, but Woodland's pitching staff has had the best control this season, surrendering a walk only two times in seven innings this year.

Six batters hit over .400 this week. The group was paced by Cooper Goldby, who collected two hits in four at bats for a .500 average.

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Rickey Ramirez, who turned in 12 Ks for River Valley. He's second in the league with 21 total strikeouts.



The Wolves' Trevor Young threw six shutout innings in an 8-0 win over Dixon on Monday. He pitched six scoreless innings and struck out eight, while giving up two hits.
