Monocacy Valley - Piedmont recap November 19, 2013

Middletown added to the longest winning streak in Monocacy Valley - Piedmont this week by beating Poolesville, 45-6. The victory was the 11th in a row for the Knights.

Urbana and Damascus played the most contested game in the league this week, with Urbana eventually emerging with a 35-34 victory.

Middletown's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Tim Pirrone threw for 42 and 1 touchdown and Tim Schumacher had 41 yards receiving. On the ground Marquis Lauer chipped in 76 yards.

Schumacher was the best receiver in the league this week as Kevin Lynott's team defeated the Falcons. Schumacher tallied 1 reception for 41 yards.

Middletown's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Knights feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Pirrone has thrown for 584 yards and 9 touchdowns this season, while Mitch Sgrignoli has 16 catches for 217 yards.

The marquee game in Monocacy Valley - Piedmont this week will be the clash between the Hawks and Linganore. Urbana enters the contest ranked 10th in the state, while the Lancers ranks sixth.

The Knights took down Poolesville 45-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Pirrone ran for 37 yards during the win.
