Soccer Game Preview: Burke vs. Bryan

The Burke Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Bryan Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Burke's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Tuesday, Burke came up short against Bellevue West and fell 3-1.

Meanwhile, Bryan and Millard North combined for ten shots on goal on Friday, which explains the impressive five total goals scored. The Bears fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 3-2. While losing is never fun, Bryan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska soccer rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Millard North are ranked fourth).

Antonio Gama Romo and Diego Salazar Salcedo scored both of Bryan's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 18 goals.

Burke's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Bryan, the loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 5-3.

Burke might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from Bryan in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
