Baseball Recap: Kennedy Takes a Loss

Kennedy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Verdugo Hills Dons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Thursday.

Vincent Zepeda spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kennedy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Kennedy's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Verdugo Hills, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-11.

While Kennedy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
