Basketball Recap: Mitchell County Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Mitchell County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past the Miller County Pirates 56-30 on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 62-38 back in January.

Miller County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hannah Cratic, who went 6 of 15 en route to 15 points along with eight boards and six steals. Cratic is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Rhianna Smith, who posted seven points.

Mitchell County's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Miller County, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Mitchell County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-35 defeat against Randolph-Clay on the 5th. As for Miller County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-15 victory against Pataula Charter Academy on the 5th.
