Basketball Game Preview: Brooks Eagles vs. Woodlawn

The Brooks Eagles will venture away from home to face off against Woodlawn at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Woodlawn will be up against a hot Brooks squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Brooks came out on top against Dunbar by a score of 56-48 on Tuesday.

Elijah Curl and Bryce Hayes were among the main playmakers for Brooks as the former made all 6 shots he took to post 16 points and three blocks and the latter went 6 of 10 en route to 15 points. That's the most blocks Curl has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Macauri Sias, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Woodlawn's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 76-64 to Julian.

Woodlawn's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Brooks, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
