Baseball Recap: Southampton Academy Comes Up Short

Southampton Academy's last matchup with TEACH Homeschool could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Thursday. The Raiders came up short against the Beach Breakers, falling 16-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Beach Breakers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-3 back in April.

Southampton Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grant Applewhite, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.

Southampton Academy moved to 11-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for TEACH Homeschool, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-11 record this season.

Southampton Academy will head out on the road to challenge Halifax Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for TEACH Homeschool, they will host Peninsula Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
