Basketball Game Preview: Lakeland Chiefs vs. Holy Cross Crusaders

Lakeland hasn't had much luck against Holy Cross recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Lakeland Chiefs will be playing at home against the Holy Cross Crusaders at 6:45 p.m.

Lakeland is headed into the game having just suffered their closest defeat since December 6, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Old Forge by a score of 48-45. While losing is never fun, the Chiefs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 470th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 110th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Chase Rosenkrans, who went 9 of 17 on his way to 22 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dylan Kopa, who posted 11 points.

Meanwhile, Holy Cross didn't have too much trouble with Mid Valley on Friday as they won 61-45. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Crusaders.

Holy Cross is also on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Lakeland, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
