Volleyball Recap: Grace Christian Comes Up Short at Home Against Cornerstone Christian Academy

Grace Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Cornerstone Christian Academy Cougars on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost three in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-17, 25-17.

Cornerstone Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Ashlynn Lanning, who had eight kills and four aces.

Cornerstone Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grace Christian will challenge Mullins Marion Christian on Thursday. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, they will head out to square off against Christ the Cornerstone Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Defenders will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight.
