Baseball Recap: Golder Takes a Loss

Golder extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 1-6 in the process. They lost 21-10 to the Noble Street College Prep Golden Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 on Saturday.

Ryan Drysch was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with five stolen bases and three runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last ten games he's played dating back to last season. Aldo De Paz was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

As for Noble Street College Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games.

On Noble Street College Prep's side, the team relied heavily on Ethan Gallegos, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI Gallegos has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Elliott Cebollero, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Golder will square off against rival Bulls College Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Noble Street College Prep is set to take on their familiar foe UIC College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
