Basketball Game Preview: Orange Panthers vs. Fullerton Indians

The Orange Panthers will take on the Fullerton Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Orange has struggled recently with 14 defeats in a row, while Fullerton will arrive with eight straight wins.

Last Friday, Orange opened the new year with a less-than-successful 54-44 loss to Estancia.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Mark Hernandez-Chino, who posted 15 points. Those 15 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Vic Ceja, who earned 11 points.

Meanwhile, Fullerton made easy work of Santa Fe on Friday and carried off a 73-47 victory. With that win, the Indians brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.

Fullerton's win came from a few key players Orange will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jordan Myvett, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 20 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jad Mustafa, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds.

Fullerton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive matchups.

Fullerton is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Orange, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-17.
