Basketball Recap: Ringgold Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Keenan Johnson and Ladaunte Mccoy

Ringgold lost against Gibsland-Coleman last Saturday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Ringgold Redskins took a 63-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gibsland-Coleman Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Redskins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 42nd).

Ringgold's loss came despite strong showings from LaDaunte McCoy and Keenan Johnson. McCoy dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 boards, while Johnson went 5 of 10 on his way to 17 points. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in points.

This is the second loss in a row for Ringgold and nudges their season record down to 1-8. As for Gibsland-Coleman, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

Ringgold didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-60 defeat against Mansfield on the 12th. As for Gibsland-Coleman, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 71-64 win against Arcadia on the 12th.
