Basketball Game Preview: Spruce Creek Hawks vs. Maclay Marauders

The Spruce Creek Hawks and the Maclay Marauders will round out the year against one another at at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Spruce Creek's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Spruce Creek will head into Friday's matchup hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 36) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged Seabreeze out 68-65. While the Hawks didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Maclay entered their tilt with North Florida Christian on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 63-52 win over the Eagles.

Maclay had a senior duo take command as George Grant posted 14 points and Andrew Lunt had 19 points. Those 19 points gave Lunt a new career-high. Nash Beshears was another key player, putting up ten points.

Spruce Creek's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Maclay, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6.
