Basketball Recap: Burley Comes Up Short

Burley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 69-41 loss at the hands of the Preston Indians. The Bobcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-16.

Despite the loss, Burley still got an impressive performance from Ben Pilling, who went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cove Thompson, who posted ten points.

Burley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Preston, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

Burley will head out to take on Century at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Century will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Burley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Preston, they will be playing at home against Minico at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Preston's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests.
