Football Game Preview: Whitesburg Christian Academy Warriors vs. Geraldine Bulldogs

The Whitesburg Christian Academy Warriors will take on the Geraldine Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 60-21, which was the final score in Whitesburg Christian Academy's tilt against Fyffe on Friday. The Warriors have struggled against the Red Devils recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Geraldine got themselves on the board against Brindlee Mountain on Friday, but Brindlee Mountain never followed suit. They really took it to the Lions for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-0 win. The Bulldogs have beaten the Lions the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Lions has come to flipping the script.

Geraldine found their leader in sophomore Jon Beck Wade, who rushed for 146 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 87 yards and one TD while completing 83.3% of his passes. Beck Wade's longest rush was for an impressive 63 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Geraldine's leading receiver Cooper Johnson was Beck Wade's top target yet again, picking up -4 receiving yards.

Whitesburg Christian Academy now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Geraldine, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
