Basketball Recap: Eldorado Falls Despite Big Games from Maddex Rash and Grayson Stafford

Eldorado lost against Vienna back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eldorado Eagles took a 49-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vienna Eagles. While losing is never fun, Eldorado can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 569th, while Vienna is ranked 272nd).

Eldorado's loss came despite strong showings from Grayson Stafford and Maddex Rash. Stafford went 6 of 13 en route to 14 points and five rebounds, while Rash posted ten points.

Eldorado has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Vienna, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Eldorado wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-43 loss against Fairfield on the 28th. As for Vienna, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 46-42 defeat against Carterville on the 28th.
