Basketball Recap: Fruita Monument Gets the Win

Fruita Monument won the last time they faced Eaglecrest and things went their way on Saturday too. The Fruita Monument Wildcats rang in the new year with a 53-44 win over the Eaglecrest Raptors.

Eaglecrest's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jada Bobb, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaydence Waymire, who posted 12 points.

Fruita Monument's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Eaglecrest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Fruita Monument Wildcats face off against the Rock Canyon Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Eaglecrest, they will face off against Douglas County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eaglecrest is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.5 points per game this season.
