Softball Recap: Clarence Red Devils vs. Williamsville East Flames
Clarence had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 1-4 to make it four. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Williamsville East Flames. That's two games in a row now that the Red Devils have lost by exactly three runs.
As for Williamsville East, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.
For Williamsville East's part, Libby Kosmowski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits.
On the hitting side, Briana White was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Paige Botzenhart, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.
