Volleyball Recap: Mountain View Comes Up Short

Mountain View lost against South Salem back in August of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cougars took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saxons.

South Salem can attribute much of their success to Leah Ioane, who had six digs and two aces. That's the most digs Ioane has posted over her last 15 matchups. Ellenia Setzer also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for South Salem, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7-1 record this season.

Mountain View is taking a road trip to challenge Redmond at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for South Salem, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Corvallis on the 18th.
