Baseball Recap: Hobbs Takes a Loss

If Hobbs was feeling good fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Piedra Vista last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hobbs Eagles lost 16-10 to the Piedra Vista Panthers on Thursday. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 10-0.

Jayden Hernandez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. He also scored a run, marking his first of the season. Christian Montes was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Hobbs' record now sits at 1-3. As for Piedra Vista, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Hobbs will challenge Cleveland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cleveland will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Hobbs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Piedra Vista, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Piedra Vista Panthers duke it out with Clovis Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Clovis has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.25 runs per game on average), something Piedra Vista will no doubt try to take advantage of.
