Basketball Recap: Raegan Mccarn's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Central Davidson over Robinson

Central Davidson and Robinson squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Central Davidson had to settle for second. They took a 51-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Robinson Bulldogs. That's two games in a row now that the Spartans have lost by exactly 13 points.

Central Davidson's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Raegan McCarn, who posted eight points in addition to five assists and three steals. McCarn is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Jordan, who scored 12 points and seven rebounds.

Robinson was led to victory by Camri Hobbs and Destiny Chambers. Hobbs went 5-for-8 to rack up 17 points and six boards, while Chambers almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds. Charlene McNeil was another key player, putting up eight points.

Central Davidson now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Robinson, they are on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season.

Central Davidson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Robinson, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hibriten at 6:00 p.m. Hibriten has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight defeats, while Robinson will come in with 16 straight victories.
