Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Cleveland

Cleveland had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Martin County West on Tuesday. The Clippers blew past the Mavericks 9-3. The win was familiar territory for the Clippers, who have now won four contests in a row.

Alex Kortuem spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Cleveland got a massive performance out of Brennan Kortuem, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Miles Tomaszewski, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Cleveland's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Martin County West, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Coming up, Cleveland will take on Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Martin Luther/Truman at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Martin County West, they will square off against Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
