Basketball Game Preview: Poly Engineers vs. Milford Mill Academy Millers

Two dominant guards in London Elliot and Tatyana Fields are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. Having just played yesterday, the Poly Engineers will head out on the road to face off against the Milford Mill Academy Millers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Poly is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.

Poly is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Edgewood by a score of 62-55.

Poly found their leader in sophomore Elliot, who posted 25 points in addition to seven steals and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Elliot has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Pope, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards.

Poly smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Milford Mill Academy beat Dulaney 54-44 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Millers.

Poly's record now sits at 17-9. As for Milford Mill Academy, their record is now 21-4.

Everything came up roses for Poly against Milford Mill Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, as the squad secured an 85-20 win. Does Poly have another victory up their sleeve, or will Milford Mill Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
