League recap: League supremacy in the balance for South El Monte, Rosemead this week

Mission Valley league recap: 3/20/13

First place in the standings of Mission Valley is up for grabs this week, as Rosemead sits tied atop the standings with South El Monte.

Aaron Saavedra was the best pitcher in the league this week, leading the Eagles. Over the past week, he racked up one win and seven strikeouts.

Gabrielino boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

Even after stealing 15 bases to lead the league over the past week, South El Monte is still looking up at the Panthers, which ranks No. 1 in steals, with 17 on the year.

There were four hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. They were led by Steven San Miguel, who hit .571 this week (4-for-7).



Steven San Miguel drove in two home runs this week.

Mario Lopez led the Eagles to a win on March 15, as he notched ten strikeouts to beat Mountain View, 4-1. Over seven innings of work, he gave up eight hits and one run.
