Soccer Recap: Woodville-Tompkins Takes a Loss

Despite a strong season so far, Woodville-Tompkins has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Toombs County Bulldogs. The contest was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Woodville-Tompkins couldn't quite close it out.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 9-3. As for Toombs County, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodville-Tompkins will head out to challenge Savannah Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodville-Tompkins will be up against Savannah Christian's rather soft defense (which has allowed 6.44 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Toombs County, they will venture away from home to face off against Hebron Christian at 5:30 p.m. on April 3.
