Softball Recap: Cape Henlopen Vikings vs. William Penn Colonials

Cape Henlopen put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the William Penn Colonials with a sharp 23-1 win. Fans of the Vikings have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Tegan Baker and Abby Marsh made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Baker tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Marsh struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. In other batting news, Alivia Heers and Ava Calciano did most of the damage at the plate: Heers got on base in all six of her plate appearances with five RBI, two doubles, and one triple, while Calciano scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.
