There's no place like home for Mohonasen, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Spartans on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since April 22, 2024.

AJ Crux was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Crux was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Daniel Corsoro was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Danny DeLaVega was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

The win got Mohonasen back to even at 1-1. As for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, their record now sits at 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mohonasen will welcome Duanesburg at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, they will host Christian Brothers Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Spartans their first taste of in-conference action this season.
