Baseball Recap: Windermere Prep Wins Going Away Against Cornerstone Charter Academy

Windermere Prep's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They blew past the Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks 7-0. For the Lakers, this counts as revenge for the 5-3 victory the Ducks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Not much got past Luke Slattery, who gave up just eight hits and racked up six Ks to keep Cornerstone Charter Academy off the board. Slattery also tossed no walks, which is notable because Windermere Prep is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Nicolas Pe?a was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Andrew Ligonis, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

Windermere Prep's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Coming up, Windermere Prep is taking a road trip to square off against Lake Buena Vista at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, they will be playing at home against Aubrey Rogers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
