Basketball Recap: Clover Garden School Find Success

If Woods Charter wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Clover Garden School, they should've done a better job of containing Hanna Tickle. The Clover Garden School Grizzlies claimed a resounding 50-23 win over the Woods Charter Wolves thanks in part to Tickle, who went 8 for 12 en route to 22 points and eight steals. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Clover Garden School's points.

Another player making a difference was Nikole Weed, who posted eight points and five rebounds. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (two).

Woods Charter's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Wesley Oliver, who earned 15 points and six steals. That was a full 65.2% of Woods Charter's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Clover Garden School's record is now 9-4. As for Woods Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Clover Garden School will head out to take on Triangle Math & Science at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Woods Charter, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Southern Wake Academy at 6:00 p.m. Woods Charter's defense has only allowed 29 points per game this season, so Southern Wake Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
