Football Recap: California School for the Deaf Comes Up Short

California School for the Deaf extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 0-7. They lost 38-14 to the Round Valley Mustangs. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 20-0.

Round Valley's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Clayton Mitchell went supernova, throwing for 246 yards and five TDs, while also rushing for 47 yards and one touchdown. Mingus Gatto was in the mix as well, providing Round Valley with two scores.

California School for the Deaf and Round Valley will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Eagles see the field they'll take on South Fork at 4:00 p.m. on the 31st. As for Round Valley, their break will end when they face Potter Valley at 6:00 p.m. on the 31st.
