It was fun while it lasted, but Fairbanks's undefeated season came to an end after eight games on Friday. They fell just short of the North Union Wildcats by a score of 57-54. The loss put an end to the Panthers' undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Fairbanks fell to 8-1. As for North Union, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairbanks will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Grove City Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Grove City Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.6 points per game this season. As for North Union, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Jonathan Alder at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Union has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 181 points over their last three games.
