Recap: Community School of Davidson Spartans vs. Legion Collegiate Academy Lancers
The Community School of Davidson Spartans waltzed into Thursday's matchup with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 46-35 victory over Legion Collegiate Academy.
Community School of Davidson was led to victory by Olivia Stewart and Tyler Baughan. Stewart scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds, while Baughan scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Stewart has scored at least 25% of Community School of Davidson's points. Another player making a difference was Molly Feighery, who scored 8 points along with 8 rebounds.
Legion Collegiate Academy's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Amelia Williams, who scored 17 points along with 4 steals. Williams scored a full 48.6% of Legion Collegiate Academy's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen McMurray , who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds.
Community School of Davidson's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Legion Collegiate Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Community School of Davidson will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Piedmont Community Charter at 6:00 p.m. Piedmont Community Charter will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 355th, while Community School of Davidson is ranked 82nd). As for Legion Collegiate Academy, they will face off against Victory Christian Center at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
