Game recap: Willows High School Football Team tops Hamilton

HAMILTON CITY, Calif. - Hamilton (Hamilton City, Calif.) lost to Willows (Calif.), 26-13.

After trailing 7-0 at the half, the Braves went ahead on a touchdown with 10:00 to go in the third. Willows finally took the lead for good when Chris Walter ran for a touchdown with 7:00 to go in the third quarter.

WHS grew its lead to 19 points entering the fourth quarter. The Honkers scored three times in the third, including once on a Walter touchdown run.

When the two teams played each other last season, Willows came away with a 20-7 victory.

The victory was a step in the right direction for WHS, which was coming off a 20-0 defeat at the hands of Corning in its previous game. The defeat comes as a step back for Hamilton, which notched a 45-17 victory over Portola in its previous outing. The victory ended Willows' two-game losing streak.
